In an opinion piece published by L’Echo, our co-founder Aymar de Lichtervelde warns about the vulnerability of our water system in the face of climate change.

👉 The facts are clear:

  • Belgium is among the countries most exposed to water stress worldwide.

  • Droughts, floods, and conflicts over water use are multiplying.

  • Our “all-potable” model: one single type of water, treated at high cost, for every use, is no longer viable.

👉 The solutions exist:

  • Move beyond the all-potable model: reuse treated water, store rainwater, and develop differentiated networks.

  • Rethink pricing: reward sobriety and efficiency, rather than consumption.

At Revalio, we are already implementing these approaches with the industry to secure water access and build a circular, sustainable model.

  • Revalio reduces the water consumption of industries (ei, cleaning in place) to improve their water footprint.

  • Revalio treats process water and optimizes usage from cooling towers and steam boilers.

  • Revalio treats and cleans wastewater to ensure environmental compliance.

  • Revalio recycles effluents for water reuse and energy recovery from industrial water.
